The family pictured here came into our shelter on May 26th. They are a couple with four children ages 4 through 13. The family was staying with friends in a small apartment.
Both parents work and were able to save enough money during their stay to buy a $120,000 house. The home is located here in Brighton.
The family stayed in shelter from May 26th - July 31st. During their stay they paid the $35 shelter fee. The family neither requested nor received any financial assistance while in shelter. Since moving they have maintained contact and updated us with a phone number.
Almost Home, Inc. was able to assist the family with a number of furniture items for their new home. The family was and is very grateful. For the time they were able to stay in shelter so their dream of buying a home could become a reality. The family gave Almost Home a beautiful hand made aluminum flower sculpture mounted in a very nice frame.
