Almost Home Welcomes New Executive Director

Please welcome Ashley Dunn as the new Executive Director for Almost Home. Ashley comes to us with impressive credentials and experience that will help us to further our mission of providing assistance to those experiencing housing instability. Ashley was born and raised in rural Iowa but has lived throughout the country. Her education and experience across the country has allowed her to develop a holistic understanding of the systemic issues that lead to homelessness and housing instability. Ashley is a National Certified Counselor and has Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy from Bay Path University, as well as a Masters of Science in Marital and Family Therapy. She also obtained a Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Austin Peay Stay University. She relocated from West Hartford, Connecticut, where she served as the Vice President of Housing Stabilization Programs at Way Finders, in Springfield, MA. She also worked as a clinician with group addictions and recovery therapy for Rushford Behavioral Health in Middletown, CT. In addition, she managed intensive in home counseling and crisis intervention services for Youth Villages in both Massachusetts and Tennessee. While working in each of these positions, she continued to see that addressing challenges was consistently difficult when housing was not stable and began to align with a Housing First and holistic approach. When she and her family made the decision to relocate and establish permanent roots in Colorado, she knew she wanted to be a part of a mission that takes a holistic approach and Almost Home immediately aligned with her beliefs. Her experience in prevention, diversion, workforce development, rapid re-housing, stabilization services and program development felt like the perfect match with the mission and strategic direction of Almost Home. She believes that every household deserves the opportunity to live successful, self-sufficient lives and is excited to be a part of the team that is providing these services to Adams County.
