SANTA FANTASY FLIGHT
For the past 9 years Almost Home has been fortunate to be included the Annual Santa Fantasy Flight to the North Pole hosted by United Airlines employees and volunteers. The event takes place each December and United Airlines selects a handful of charitable organizations (Almost Home, Children's Hospital & Rocky Mountain Down Syndrome Association to name a few) and treats children from those organizations to a magical day at the North Pole.
The children board a designated flight and depart to the North Pole. They circle above Denver on a plane decorated with Christmas themed fun, music & food and then return to DIA where they pull into a hangar that is transformed into a Winter Wonderland. Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves, super heroes and lots of volunteers are there to meet the children as they depart the plane. The children are treated to games, refreshments & fun while they wait their turn for their private visit with Santa. Santa meets with each kid individually and presents them with a bag of gifts that includes toys, clothing, blankets, gloves, hats & more!

Almost Home has participated in the Santa Fantasy Flight for the past 9 years, taking kids from our shelter and Hughes Station, to the North Pole! In addition to the flight to the North Pole, our kiddos are treated with a ride to and from DIA in a decked out party bus provided by Cross Transportation which has our kids arriving at the airport "in style!"

"It was amazing to see the 'North Pole' and how excited the kids were to meet Santa. Many of them had never been in a limo, much less on a plane. It was such a good feeling knowing that these kids would definitely have a great Christmas this year”
