Almost Home Board of Director Commitments

 

• I will become familiar with the mission, operation, and services of Almost Home. I will read the organization's by-laws and other governing documents (board manual/policies).

• I will be an advocate for Almost Home in my personal and civic roles.

• I will make every effort to attend all scheduled board meetings and will inform the Board President to of any upcoming absences. I understand that repeated unexcused absences from board meetings may be taken as resignation from the Board of Directors.

• I will read and review the board packet in advance of the meeting and be prepared to participate in establishing strategy and governance for Almost Home.

• I will participate in strategic planning sessions and will participate in individual board member education, training, and development, to the best of my ability.

• I will assist in regularly reviewing and assessing the financial and program needs of the organization and working with the Executive Director to establish strategic goals and objectives for the organization.

• I will assist in developing and maintaining a professional environment at each board meeting. If I have concerns pertaining to certain board actions or meeting content, I will express those concerns in a concise and appropriate manner.

• I will attend and participate in as many outreach and fundraising events as possible.

• I will make a personal financial contribution to Almost Home, Inc. each year based upon my ability to contribute.

• I will endeavor to guide the organization in a manner consistent with the Almost Home mission statement. Once a decision has been made, I will support the organization’s decision and activities in fulfilling the mission.

• I will be an ambassador of Almost Home, Inc. and share the mission and role of Almost Home, Inc. whenever and wherever possible.

• I will accept no gifts or contributions that would impact, or could appear to impact, any strategic or tactical decisions made by the Board of Directors.
